The 2–0 Carey Seahawks junior high football team prepared to host the Floral Park Knights junior high football team on their home turf, Marc Mantone Field in a cross-Sewanhaka School District matchup. Seahawks wide receiver Lucian Roman opened up the scoring in the first quarter off of a catch-and-run pass that put them ahead 6-0, which would be the only scoring in the 1st quarter for both teams. In the second quarter, after an interception from the Seahawks defense would give them the ball, wide receiver Paul McNamee would score off of a pass from quarterback Thomas Niedermayer, bringing the score up to a 12-0 lead for the Seahawks in the second quarter. In the third quarter, the Seahawks would tack onto their lead, once again off of a catch from Justin Barongi, but the Knights would soon take that one back to make it a score of 19-6 and finally get the Knights on the board. Then Paul McNamee would get into the end zone again for his second touchdown of the game to push the score up to 26-6. No one would be able to add to their score after that as the Junior High Seahawks would end the game with another win, this one being their third win in a row to remain with a 3-0 record, meaning that they are undefeated.
On Friday, October 6th, the 3-1 varsity Seahawks will host Sewanhaka while wearing pink for their pink-out game, one you don’t want to miss!
