Interview with Will Tolliver

By Thomas Scheidling

Today, in the Pink Out Game, the Varsity Seahawks hosted Sewanhaka and defeated them to boost their record to 5-1. After the game, I was able to get an interview with running back and defensive back Will Tolliver. Will Tolliver is in 12th grade this year and will be leaving H. Frank Carey High School in June. So, here’s what he said:

Firstly, I asked him how he felt about his solid performance over Sewanhaka in the annual Pink Out Game. He replied, “I feel great, helping my team win. It’s all thanks to my O-Line, they block like crazy, and it felt good to get the win.”

I then asked him, “how are you going to go into that game coming off this big win?” He said that “we go into it like any other game. Focused, ready, and we’re ready to get another win.”

Finally, I asked him who he thought was the best player in that game. He said, “Justin DePietro.* He was an absolute monster in this game; love that little guy.”

Will Tolliver rushed for two touchdowns in Carey’s 49-7 victory over Sewanhaka High School in the pink out game, certainly helping his team out a lot. Next week, the Carey Seahawks are going against the Mepham Pirates at home at Marc Mantone Field, another great home game you won’t want to miss.

*Justin DePietro, a defensive back and running back, scored a touchdown off of a fumble recovery on defense and recorded a sack.
