Now that we are incredibly close to Halloween, you may be asking yourself, “What am I going to dress up as?” Unlike years past you may be overloaded with schoolwork and extracurriculars, or are too exhausted to research good costume ideas. Lucky for you, we have compiled a few ideas that you can do by yourself, with your special someone, or your friend group altogether!! We really hope that this article will provide some assistance with the costume picking process!!!
Individual Costume Ideas:
1. Onesie
Halloween is right around the corner, and getting a Onesie is an easy way to pull together a cute costume!! Are you a fan of LILO and Stitch? Consider getting a stitch onesie!! These are classics that never fail to look absolutely adorable. Do you love pumpkins? Consider getting a pumpkin onesie!! I can assure you that for whatever movie/TV show you love, there is probably a onesie out there to match it!
2. Inflatable Costume
This is an awesome costume idea that never fails to be absolutely hilarious!! There are countless choices on the market ranging from being a Kool-aid Man, a dinosaur, or being a hilarious chicken!! Be sure to explore any options that are available!!
3. Pirate
For both men and women, this is an awesome and stylish Halloween costume!! Additionally, it is also pretty easy to DIY!! Look for a white ruffled shirt, along with some cute blue jeans and boots. Find a belt lying around, and possibly a corset for the ladies. You can buy a pirate hat from your local halloween store, and even find a bandana to put around your head!
4. Alice from Alice in Wonderland
This is for all of the ladies who love to wear a pretty blue dress for Halloween. If you already have a dress at home, find a black headband to wear, and try to find a white apron to put on top of your dress. Find some cute white stockings and if you have some nice black shoes, wear those as well!!
Duo Costume Ideas:
1. Barbie and Ken
With the advent of the release of this iconic movie, dressing up as Barbie and Ken have been some of the most popular couple/duo costume ideas of 2023. There are various options for dressing up as these characters: You can replicate their rollerblading outfits, dress up in their country/rodeo outfit, or just simply dress up as the original Barbie and Ken!!
2. Mario and Luigi
This is an absolutely adorable duo costume idea that never gets old. One easy way to DIY this costume would be to buy matching blue pants and suspenders, and buy a green and red shirt to match. If you have a green or red cap lying around, print out the letter “M” and “L” and tape it onto the front!! If you are doing a duo with another girl, consider buying blue tutus instead of
blue pants!!
Group Costume Ideas:
3. Tetris
Are you going trick or treating with a group of friends or your family? Consider making a Tetris costume! If you want, you can take a large cardboard box, cut a hole for your neck, and paint over it to match the design you are doing with your group!! Consider adding a string around the neckline in order to hang it around your neck. If you need any tips on making this costume- ask the math department!! (They dressed up as this one year)
