Fall is a cozy and beautiful season, as the leaves change color, and the weather gets cooler. As the hot weather comes to an end, many fear it is the end of outdoor activities. However, there are more things to do this fall than what meets the eye.
Every Friday, Hudson Yards hosts movie nights at 6 PM on the Public Square and Gardens. They show a variety of movies from Corpse Bride to Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. From September 16 to November 12, New York Botanical Garden will be offering a variety of attractions and activities for all ages. Activities include lawn games, self-guided tours, and spooky nights.
For the people interested in the Halloween aspect of Fall, the scariest haunted house in NYC is coming back to Queens! A Haunting in Hollis is a fan-favorite haunted house turned into three floors of horror. Goblins, creepers, and gory actors wait to jump out and frighten you! A tourist and New Yorker favorite is taking in all the decorative houses. From mummies to spiders and different pumpkins, New Yorkers sure know how to decorate their stoops to showcase their Halloween and Fall spirit! A list of areas that have the best decorations include the Upper West Side, West Village; Industry City, Brooklyn; and Astoria, Queens.
We can’t forget the most popular fall activity, Apple Picking! 2 orchards near NY that are rumored to have the best apples are Fishkill Farms and Pennings Orchard. And of course, we can’t leave out the pumpkins! Family favorite farms include Queens County Farm and F & W Schmitts Farm! Not only do these farms cater to pumpkins, but they also have other family-friendly activities to do and delicious fall foods! We hope these recommendations help you enjoy a fall-tastic day!
