Day Four

Brightening up Your Home for the Season

By: Jamie Moncy

The winter season means that you will definitely be spending more time at home! So making your home feel cozy, warm, and welcoming will be time worth investing...

The key to winter decor is using rich, textural layers and festive colors is the key to winter decor.  One way is to incorporate winter-related decorations outside or inside such as  hanging snowflakes on the windows or, my favorite, hanging lights outdoors to accentuate the warmth of the season during the cold days.

Decor can also be incorporated into the house: adding pinecones, wreaths, greenery, and so much more. Another thing to consider is applying numerous forms of stylized winter prints like embroidered towels, framed patterns, etc. One of my favorites is adding candles to a cozy room because it brightens the gloominess of winter! You can get them in scents such as cinnamon and clove, citrus baslam, snow cherry and marcon.

For Christmas decorating, the holiday rituals are putting up a Christmas tree or putting up stockings . However, we can go further by sticking to a color scheme like green and red with some metallic colors to bring out the festive feeling. It really enhances the whimsical vibe of Christmas.

Adding garlands is already very festive, but if you want to make it even more festive, add some lights, pinecones, and decorations to the branches and let them shine. Finally, add a little decor related to the season such as a little Christmas tree, led lights, or snowman figures! These tips and tricks can really enhance and brighten up your house for the holidays.
