The Gift of Giving: Meaningful Presents for Your Loved Ones
By: Shirley Chen
The winter holidays are a time during which we rack our brains to think of meaningful and thoughtful gifts for our loved ones. Although you do gift your amazing presence to those around you, it wouldn’t be practical to wrap yourself in cute wrapping paper and place yourself underneath the Christmas trees of your loved ones. That being said, here are some ideas that hopefully will save you from making a surprise appearance underneath the tree.
1) Stuffed Animals
Who wouldn’t want a new cuddly friend? From a small teddy bear to a giant fluffy friend, everyone loves stuffed animals!
2) Books
Whether it be a classic Doctor Seuss children’s book or a currently trending best seller,
books are a good gift for all ages. Try finding out your person’s favorite author or genre to help decide!
3) Toys/Entertainment
We all need to indulge in some fun activities every once in a while. This could range
from a simple coloring book to a complex lego set. Toys aren’t just for kids!
4) Hobby-Related Gifts
Aim to appeal to some of the hobbies that your receiver has, it is always nice to gift a
thoughtful present. Ideas include yarn for knitting/crocheting, a new sketchbook, a sewing kit, and so on!
5) DIY Present
DIYing a present will definitely demonstrate your efforts and the thought that you put into the act of giving a gift. Some crafts could include a woven blanket, bracelets, ornaments, or a terrarium!
The bottom line is to try to think of things that they might need or appreciate. Good luck on your gift searching journey and remember if all else fails, you can still poof yourself under the Christmas tree.
